On April 18, 2026, Amy Marie Brown, 43, of Panama City, was arrested by the Alleghany County, Virginia, Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for attempted first-degree homicide issued by the Springfield Police Department.
On April 16, 2026, Brown arrived unannounced at her ex-husband’s residence in the 2900 block of Avon Road. An argument began at the front door. During the altercation, Brown produced a handgun and fired multiple times, striking the victim in the left hand and on the left side of his head.
The victim drove himself and his daughter to a family member’s residence and was then taken for medical treatment. He remains hospitalized in a stable condition.

Additional charges are expected.
