✨ Did you know there are TWO types of melanin in your skin? 🤯

As permanent makeup artists, we use the Fitzpatrick Scale (Types I–VI) to understand how your skin responds to the sun and to choose the safest pigments and techniques.

☀️ Type I: Very fair skin that burns easily.
🌿 Types III–IV: Many olive skin tones with a more balanced mix of melanin.
☀️ Type VI: Deeply pigmented skin with a high concentration of melanin.

Here's the cool part...

🟤 Eumelanin is the brown-to-black pigment and is more prevalent in darker skin tones.

🟠 Pheomelanin is the red-to-yellow pigment and is more prevalent in very fair skin, especially those with red hair, blonde hair, and freckles.

Understanding melanin isn't just science—it's essential for creating beautiful, long-lasting permanent cosmetics that heal naturally.
