We are so thrilled for The Story House Bookstore team and everything they have planned for our community! 💛📚 It’s a dream come true to have this space continue as a center for the arts here in Springfield! I’ve been lucky enough to glimpse their vision and it is *beautiful*! Also happy news ~ you can still find Sarah and AJ behind the counter! Cheers to wonderful new beginnings!!! 💛📚💛📚

We’re so excited to share that Pagination Bookshop will soon be continuing its story under a new name —The Story House Bookstore — led by brother-and-sister team Michael Bruner and Penny Scroggs. Michael is a recently retired professor of verbal art, and Penny is a local interior designer and artist. This new venture is made possible because of Arthur Marx, the new owner of the building and the grandson of the late Pinky Marx. Pinky was a well-known artist also deeply committed to the Springfield arts community.

We are re-opening the bookstore by mid-November and making the transition to The Story House as smooth and joyful as possible for the holiday season and into the new year. The love and care Jen Murvin has poured into her bookstore has created something obviously unique and dear to the Springfield community, and we are honored to carry that forward. As you'll see, we’ll begin rolling out our vision for The Story House over the next few months, celebrating it with you fully at the Grand Opening in spring. Just know that our goal is simple: to sustain a welcoming, vibrant, creative home for readers, visual/media artists, and storytellers — a place to gather for events, workshops, and community, surrounded by the books and art that connect us all.

💛 A big day today as I close on the bookshop. There aren’t words enough on these shelves to express my gratitude to everyone who has helped make Pagination the vibrant and beautiful community bookstore it’s been these past six years. It’s truly been a dream come true, and I mean that with all my heart. I will cherish the years spent in this space with people I love and people who love books. Thank you for everything. 💛 ~ A huge thank you to my friend and realtor Melisa McGuire for commissioning this gorgeous painting as a gift on the occasion of our closing. I am the luckiest to be surrounded by such loving people in my life! (She is tagged below!)

Hi all! If anyone would like to drop off donations to Isabel's House food pantry to the bookshop today, we will take it over to them. Just bring your donations into the foyer! Thanks so much!

Hi, all ~ Jen here! I want to thank all of our Pagination friends and customers for your patience as we navigate this transition for the bookshop. I wanted to share some important info ~ the shop will be open for any remaining pick up orders (paid and unpaid) until Nov. 6th, but we won't be open for traditional shopping. Pagination will officially close on Nov. 6th. In the next few days, we'll be able to share the future plans for the next chapter for the house/space ~ and we know you will all be *very* excited to hear this news! Stay tuned!

Hey guys. We know this sucks, but unless you see another post from us stating otherwise, we are only open for order pickups. We have quite a few of them, so if you’ve ordered something from us recently, don’t forget to swing by this week!

We would love to see you and hear how you’ve loved Pagination over the years. 💛

Thank you all for being so kind to us during this transition! We know you have a lot of questions, but for now we just need patience as we figure out the details.

We are closing early at 1:30 p.m. today due to staff having a prior engagement, and can only offer order pickups right now.

We are eternally grateful for our customer base. As always, thank you for your support! 💛

Pagination will be open only for pickups today, including for unpaid orders. Sorry for any inconvenience!
