π Exciting news, Field Family! π
Field received an intern application from Amity this week! While Field Staff has not yet had the opportunity to interview her, they are optimistic and hopeful that things will move forward positively.
As Field takes the next steps, they have asked for the communities help in beginning the search for host families. Before an official offer can be extended, we need to have at least one host family committed and ready to welcome her.

Weβve received a few thoughtful questions regarding parts of the proposed 2026/2027 PTA budget, particularly surrounding the Amity Intern Program, and wanted to share a little additional context for clarity.
The proposed adjustment to the Amity line item does not mean the program is being reduced or that the intern will receive less direct support. Springfield Public Schools will now be covering the additional $2,000 participation fee previously funded by PTA. The remaining $3,500 included in the proposed PTA budget is the stipend paid directly to the intern throughout their time at Field, consistent with Amity Institute guidelines.
Our lovely IB PYP Progamme Coordinator, Rachelle Certain had this to share, "The $2000 difference in the budget proposal youβre seeing (compared to previous years) has been reallocated to the district to help alleviate some of the cost from PTA."
This shift simply reflects a reallocation of funding responsibilities between PTA and the district. π
As with every year, the proposed budget was created with many factors in mind, including projected fundraising, operational needs, student programming, teacher support, and long-term sustainability. The budget shared with membership is intentionally a proposed budget so families have the opportunity to review, ask questions, and stay informed prior to voting.
We are incredibly fortunate to be part of a community that cares so deeply about our students, staff, IB programming, and the experiences that make Field so special. Thank you for continuing to engage thoughtfully and support our Field Eagles! π¦
