JRBP was formed in 1997 as a project of the Southwest Missouri Resource Conservation and Development. In August of 1999, James River Basin Partnership became an autonomous organization, relying on grant funding and membership donations from individuals, businesses and governments across the watershed. Visual update on the Renew Jordan Creek Project!
What do we do about these problems?
1. Riverbank erosion - conduct riparian plantings.
2. Nutrient runoff - create personalized nutrient management plans for homeowners to reduce fertilizer runoff.
3. Litter - host river cleanups, removing thousands of pounds of trash each year.
4. Failing septic tanks - educate homeowners on septic maintenance and provide rebates to encourage routine pump outs.
5. Invasive species - fund invasive species removal projects.
