One of the ways that an active IPHA membership can make a difference is through advocacy to policymakers. Every day, federal, state, and local decision-makers discuss a myriad of issues, including those related to public health. Because of the power of advocacy, we have seatbelts, to***co prevention, safe drinking water, and nutrition labeling laws, just to name a few. For the betterment of our communities, it is imperative that public health professionals educate lawmakers and policymakers through evidence-based research.
