Since the Civil War, Helix Human Services (formerly the Children’s Study Home) has been dedicated to a single purpose: finding ways to help people who have experienced trauma in their lives. Today marks the beginning of Pride Month, a time to celebrate love, authenticity, diversity, and the strength of the LGBTQIA+ community.

At Helix Human Services, we believe every person deserves to feel safe, valued, respected, and supported for exactly who they are. Throughout this month, we honor the voices, experiences, and contributions of LGBTQIA+ individuals while reaffirming our commitment to creating inclusive and affirming spaces for all.

As we kick off Pride Month, we invite our community to join us this Thursday, June 4, at 11:00 AM for our Annual Pride Flag Raising Ceremony at 44 Sherman Street in Springfield. Together, we will celebrate, reflect, and stand in solidarity with LGBTQIA+ youth, families, staff, and community members.

We hope to see you there as we raise the Pride flag and continue building a community where everyone belongs.

Over the past several years, our golf tournament has made a lasting impact across Helix Human Services programs and campuses, raising more than $185,000 to fund meaningful improvements for the children and families we serve. Past projects have included a new gym floor in Mill Pond School Springfield, redesigning the Cottage Residential Program, building a pavilion at the Sherman Street campus, and creating a new playground at the Cottage.

Most recently, the funds from last year's tournament supported an outdoor beautification project at our Springfield campus of the Mill Pond Schools. This beautification project included a new outdoor playground and basketball court, helping create safe, inclusive outdoor spaces for students at Mill Pond.

The funds raised from the 38th Annual Golf Tournament will be used to make major improvements at the Mill Pond School Berkshires Campus. Planned projects include paving the campus driveway and parking areas, constructing a brand-new outdoor basketball court, and building a new playground space for students to enjoy. These improvements will help create a safer, more welcoming, and engaging environment for students and families.
