It may only be Monday, but we're already excited to welcome Lincoln Library, The Public Library of Springfield, IL to the Dana-Thomas House this Saturday (July 18) for The Gathering of the Bookalos: A Silent BYOBook Club. Registration is required but there is still plenty of time for you to sign up, so make your way to https://www.lincolnlibrary.info/event/gathering-bookalos-springfield-historic-sites-edition-35946 to save your spot! The program will take place from 3:00-4:30 pm on Saturday, July 18.

The Gathering of the Bookalos is an off-site BYOBook Silent Book Club. There is no assigned reading, you just bring whatever book in whatever format you'd like and read it quietly alongside others who are doing the same thing. That's it. More information is available at the link above.

Bring your current reading, journal, or creative project and enjoy some time in our peaceful and inspiring Frank Lloyd Wright designed home. Don't forget to join us on Saturday evenings this summer for Living History Nights at the Old State Capitol. Each week features two first-person interpretive programs that provide additional perspectives and insights into the history of our site:

📚 At 5:30 pm, meet William H. Butler, who worked inside and outside the Capitol to ensure freedom for all.
📚At 6:30 pm, Frederick Douglass recounts his visit to Springfield one year after Lincoln's assassination, sharing his powerful message of equality.

Programs are offered each Saturday through August 8. We hope to see you there!
