Beyond the classroom, I've been passionate about coaching various sports, including volleyball, basketball, tennis, softball, and archery, believing in the power of sports to shape character and foster teamwork. Here, I collaboratively led an initiative close to my heart – the introduction and expansion of an archery program within Springfield Public Schools. While archery was originally only offered at one school, this program now thrives across Springfield and neighboring areas, offering over 1,000 students each year the opportunity to engage in a sport that is accessible to all. I've been hands-on at every stage, from securing grants to training instructors, emphasizing archery's unique ability to level the playing field for all students, regardless of their physical abilities, and offering a cost-free experience to families. I'm running for the Springfield Public Schools Board to bring this same spirit of excellence for all and innovative leadership to our education system. Springfield deserves a board member who not only understands our schools' history but also has a vision for their future.
