With Democrats in charge in Illinois, the tax hikes never end. They keep asking families to pay more, have failed to deliver real property tax relief this session, and still find new ways to spend more.
Democrats are ramming through the largest budget in state history tonight, balanced on new taxes and raids from other accounts.
Holding subject matter hearings on the budget during the final day of session offers little transparency and gives lawmakers no meaningful time for review.
Democrats are once again waiting until the final hours of session to hold hearings on the budget and major legislation. Illinois families deserve transparency, and lawmakers deserve adequate time to read, review, and debate these massive bills before being forced to vote on the final day.
