Today, we pause to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a leader whose courage, vision, and unwavering faith in justice continue to inspire generations. Dr. King dreamed of a world where love, equality, and unity triumph over hate, division, and injustice. His words remind us that progress is possible when we come together to serve and uplift one another.

As he so powerfully asked, ‘Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’ Let this day be a call to action, a reminder to give back, fight for equality, and build bridges within our communities. Together, we can keep his dream alive.

Last night at our general body meeting, we heard from Duan Gavel, President of the MSU Black Alumni Association, about the unique opportunities the association offers to stay connected with Missouri State after graduation. The Black Alumni Network provides social, professional, and educational events—from Bears watch parties to national alumni gatherings—while promoting diversity, supporting Black students, and fostering leadership within the Alumni Association!
