Where is the LOVE?
Family not invited to Christmas
Church members dissasociating with other church members
Community members gossiping about others
Neighbors telling on neighbors
Businesses doing good in their communities, feeding their families and trying their best and getting reported
Loyal hard working and dedicated employees fired for personal choices
Kids being told they can't play with other kids
Parents unable to walk their 8 year olds into hockey or sit and watch them, while others do and don't even think twice about those who can't
Some people unable to attend work Christmas parties while their employees gather and say cheers
Children afraid to go to school because they may have to cough and they don't want to cough or they'll get sent home
People being denied entry to some grocery stores in our very own country
People being denied medical care for their choices
People dying because they can't get nessesary surgeries
People dying alone
Seniors locked up tighter than criminals
I don't recognize our world any more
In two years, I live in a country I don't even know
Regardless of your choices (and honestly I don't care which one you made nor do I wish to hear your opinion either way because I really don't care either way)
What I do care about is HOW WE ARE TREATING ONE ANOTHER BASED ON THOSE CHOICES
Think you're better than someone because you made a different choice?
Think again.
We are all humans sharing the exact same planet
Not one of us is better than another
But the superiority is so thick, I'm nautious
What I'm saying here is you don't have to be pro or anti anything to use the logic that LOVE is lost.
It's time to see reality.....
THE FEAR IS THICK
THE GOSSIP IS THICK
THE ANGER IS THICK
AND THICKEST OF ALL
IS THE HATERED
'In it together'
Was quickly replaced with
Together only if you made the right choice
As the divide expands
My only answer to bridging the gap is LOVE
Don't think love will get us out?
I'd love to know what will because so far the lack of love has dug us a trench so deep I wonder if we'll ever be able to jump over it.
In the meantime,
I'll be over here
Trying to explain to my children
Who will become adults in this world
How a needle and a virus showed the world and each human in it
What was already inside of them all along
Because true colors come out
When people are squeezed
And as the squeezing continues
And so many people spew hatred
At people they once said they loved unconditionally - that means without condition (i'll love you no matter what you do or say or choose - that's what real love is folks)
I ask the questions...
WILL YOU BE PROUD OF YOURSELF after this?
Will you walk away with integrity?
Knowing you were KIND regardless of medical status?
There are so many things I could list that I want.
But truthfully?
All I want for Christmas is LOVE.
