Dry assembly of the Two-Headed Sqarg on the base.

I'm printing out a few extra "just in case" type pieces, but am otherwise down to just finishing assembly on this diorama. I'll be heavily magnetized the base of the sqarg and the waist joint, for ease of painting and to minimize stress on the base before adding the clear resin at the end.

A week from now it'll be time to start the lengthy painting process while also assembling my diorama using parts from last years run of projects.

Da Good, Da Bad, Da Uglee

First, I wanted take a minute to show off my Sqarg-nado siren. Bananorc for scale.

Da Good:

My replacement screen showed up 2 weeks ahead of schedule. It was originally due just before the end of the competition. I have a test print running now.

Da Bad:

Monday afternoon it was in the 80s, and then a season changing weather front came through and it was 38 degrees (f) the following morning. My studio is the only room in the house not connected to the central air (it's off the back of the house and is built on the old patio concrete). So it's going to take a few extra meks, a very inebriated Wuurrrrboy, and more dead Gretchen than you can shake a squig at to guarantee I get a big print to run perfect on the first try.

Da Uglee:

I lost a solid 10 days of building and painting due to a massive invasion of disease into our home. I've had covid before, this was it's biggest brother and was aggressive. Our youngest, who is special needs, ended up in the ER, and then developed pneumonia.  Our middle kid somehow got hand foot and mouth 5 days into his covid stint. And I was the last to get it, leaving me a slobbering feverish pickle for 3 solid days.

So my submission for will be assembled only, and obviously sans the clear resin. I want to spend more time painting than I will have before contest end. It sounds weird but I'm really excited to paint a variety of ork themed trash! I printed off a bunch of neat bits from zabavka workshop. I'll still continue the project after submission obviously, and you can keep following the progress right here.

I should be back tomorrow night (friday) or maybe the next morning with some screenshots of the Two-Headed Sqarg

Stay tuned
