This tank head was getting rigged up and moved into place for the next stage in the process. A lot of fabrication work is planning lifts, moving material safely, and getting everything where it needs to be.

Lifting lugs are heavy-duty structural components designed to provide secure, engineered attachment points for cranes, hoists, and rigging gear. They are essential for lifting, moving, and handling tanks.

Drilling bolt holes in the rim angle of the tank allows for bolting of the removable top head, making for easier servicing and parts replacement down the road.

Heat can change more than just the color of metal during welding. If a weld cools too quickly or unevenly, the material can begin to warp or distort. That’s why some welds are left to air cool naturally. Slowing the cooling process helps reduce stress on the metal and keeps larger sections aligned and in shape.
