Key commitments include:

- Standardizing electronic prior authorization via FHIR APIs
- Reducing services that require prior auth by Jan 1, 2026
- Honoring existing authorizations during insurance transitions (90-day continuity)
- Enhancing transparency in decisions and appeals
- Expanding real-time approvals for most requests by 2027
- Requiring medical reviewers for all clinical denials

These changes aim to reduce delays, simplify workflows, and improve patient care. CMS will monitor progress and step in if needed.

Since 2018, our flagship community impact effort, the Sharing the Love Initiative, has reached thousands of families across the DMV region. We have worked with food banks, soup kitchens, suppliers, and other partners to respond to the growing need for food assistance, providing essential food supplies to families in need.

This year, as economic hardships impact more families than ever, we are scaling up and aiming to help 1,000 food-insecure families in Springfield, VA with food boxes that will allow them to prepare two weeks of nutritious meals this holiday season.

Mark your calendars for December 14 at the Hybla Valley Community Center (Walk-in Only) and Gerry Hyland Government Center (Drive-up Only) or December 15 at the Springfield Resource Center (Walk-in Only) and St. Mark’s Lutheran Church (Drive-up Only), from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
