How are you starting your week?
I’m starting my week off with a little brain dump and intention setting.
By physically writing out all of my schedule for the week, I feel like I get more of a grasp of it. I’m able to better see where there are gaps and where I can plan for down time.
Intentionally setting aside time personal time for rest and relaxation is a newer construct for me. Instead of seeking ways to fill all of the gaps in my schedule with productive to-dos or “shoulds”, I’m seeking out opportunities to take time for ME.
After writing down the meat of my schedule for the week, I then create a short list of people I want to intentionally connect with over the next two weeks. I write down times I can connect with them and reach out to get something physically written down so that I’m SURE we make that connection happen.
Then comes the “focus on” list. This is my list of targeted to-dos. The things that I’d like to see happen this week that aren’t the MUSTS already on my schedule. If something MUST get done, it goes on my google calendar and on my hand written schedule. By writing it down in the schedule, I’m creating accountability and setting aside a specific time block to do that thing. Everything else in the “focus on” list can fill in the gaps and spaces.
Lastly, I identify something to let go of and set my intention for the week. This week I’m letting go of guilt. The “I should” statement. The words “I should” are self-guilting. There’s little consideration in those words for the “I want”. So this week, I’m letting go of guilt and setting my intention to create a peaceful, easy space and a week I enjoy. A week filled with smiles!
What intention are you setting for this week?

Last week, I wrote on the blog about how I fell in love all over again with my husband when I saw the Almond Milk in the fridge. It was the silliest, most meaningful moment in my week and the perfect way to share the upcoming changes you'll see on the blog and this page. http://www.onagoodnote.net/falling-in-love-over-almond-milk/
