**Proclamation: National Apprenticeship Week is November 13-19, 2023**

*Recognizing Michigan Wine Collaborative for Diversity and Inclusion*

Whereas, National Apprenticeship Week is a time to celebrate the significance of Registered Apprenticeships and their vital role in the Workforce Development of tomorrow; and

Whereas, the grape and wine industry is a dynamic and evolving field that relies on the dedication and expertise of passionate professionals; and

Whereas, diversity and inclusion are essential principles that enrich the fabric of our society and enhance the strength of our industries; and

Whereas, Michigan Wine Collaborative has demonstrated unwavering commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion within the grape and wine industry; and

Whereas, Michigan Wine Collaborative's dedication to promote Registered Apprenticeships and mentorship opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds aligns with our collective goal of nurturing a more inclusive and equitable workforce;

Whereas, VESTA Resource Center, based in Springfield, Missouri, stands in support of Registered Apprenticeships that promote Workforce Development of the next generation of professionals in the grape and wine industry; and

Now, therefore, we, Michelle Brewer, Tom Smith, Chris Milne, and CW Kelley III, on behalf of VESTA Resource Center, do hereby proclaim November 13-19, 2023, as National Apprenticeship Week and recognize Michigan Wine Collaborative’s Inclusion and Expansion Committee for their outstanding efforts in promoting diversity and inclusion within the grape and wine industry.

We commend the exemplary work of the Committee in creating an industry driven wine project: THE DREAM. Proceeds of THE DREAM will seed MWC’s Inclusion & Expansion Education Fund providing opportunities for aspiring underserved professionals, thereby contributing to the enrichment of the grape and wine business.
