Pedestrians face persistent risks on the road. According to the most recent data available, 7,314 pedestrians were killed and more than 68,000 were injured nationwide in 2023. Add earlier sunsets, shorter days, and any weather impacts into the mix, and it’s no surprise that winter brings increased dangers for pedestrians nationwide.

If you or someone you love is injured, call our office anytime for support. And please stay safe on the road, whether you’re a pedestrian or a driver.

Kwanzaa is a time to reflect, reconnect, and celebrate the values that bring us together — namely, unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith.

The core of Kwanzaa is the Nguzo Saba, seven principles for living that are discussed and affirmed each day of the celebration:

Umoja (Unity): To strive for and maintain unity in the family, community, nation, and race.
Kujichagulia (Self-Determination): To define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves, and speak for ourselves.
Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility): To build and maintain our community together and make our brothers' and sisters' problems our problems and solve them together.
Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics): To build and maintain our own stores, shops, and other businesses and profit from them together.
Nia (Purpose): To make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness.
Kuumba (Creativity): To do always as much as we can, in the way we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it.
Imani (Faith): To believe with all our heart in our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders, and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.

As the celebration begins, we’re sending warm wishes for a meaningful and inspiring week. May it be filled with peace, light, and joy.
