In 2020, Pastor Jeff was praying for an opportunity to make an impact in the community around Golden Avenue Baptist Church

Just a few days later, he received a phone call from a local pastor asking if the church could use some food for an outreach. Pastor Jeff said yes—and immediately recognized it as an answer to prayer.

A small group of church members quickly loaded up a couple of trucks and a box truck with food, not fully realizing what God was about to do through that simple step of obedience.

On Mother’s Day in May 2020, Golden Cares served food for the very first time.

Since that day, God has done immeasurably more than we could have asked or imagined. Through His grace, Golden Cares has now:

Served over 16,000 people

Distributed over one million pounds of food

Freely met needs across West Springfield and beyond

But even more than numbers, we’ve seen countless lives impacted by the gospel of Jesus and hope restored.

We are deeply grateful for all that God has done—and for every partner who has prayed, given, and served faithfully over the years. Golden Cares would not be possible without you and the continued faithfulness of Jesus Christ.

As we look ahead, we do so with great expectation—believing God will continue to open doors for us to meet needs and share hope that we have in Jesus in even greater ways.
