Troopers patrol major highways, rural roads, and urban corridors, often supporting local agencies and responding to incidents that cross jurisdictions. That broader perspective comes from strong training, clear standards, and statewide coordination.
The Lateral Training Program includes 14-week paid academy, and $7,313 per month during training. Troopers can serve in one of eight Troop Regions across Illinois, visit www.illinoistrooper.com for the complete list of eligible counties.
