Parents, do you know the signs? 👀

This image highlights common warning signs that a child or teen may be using ma*****na, including bloodshot eyes, changes in mood, lack of motivation, altered sleep patterns, declining school performance, and unusual odors on clothing or belongings.

In Ohio, cannabis is legal only for adults age 21 and older, making it important for parents to have open, honest conversations with their children about ma*****na use and its potential risks.

💬 Use this graphic as a conversation starter:
• Ask questions without judgment
• Listen more than you talk
• Discuss peer pressure and decision-making
• Reinforce family expectations and healthy choices

The earlier these conversations happen, the more likely kids are to come to you with questions and concerns. Knowledge, awareness, and communication remain some of the strongest tools parents have.

On Thursday, CCPIP provided a Springfield - OH - Chapter of The Links, Incorporated presentation to youth attending the Springfield Promise Neighborhood's Sports Camp at Lincoln Elementary on the dangers and signs of opioid misuse. Using current science, the LINKS presentation increases participants' understanding of opioid prevention, promotes safe medication practices, strengthens protective factors, and empowers individuals to make informed, healthy decisions while reducing the stigma surrounding substance use disorders.
