AI is transforming how we work and live. It can't stop this post from being a day late, but it can assist us with community risk reduction by enabling proactive, data-driven approaches to identify, assess, and mitigate risks. From predictive analytics in public safety to AI-enhanced disaster preparedness and strategic resource allocation, these technologies help communities become more resilient, efficient, and responsive to both natural and human-made hazards. That being said, it still takes all of us to learn to utilize AI to our advantage and not just rely on it completely, it does make mistakes...can you find the mistake below? 🤣🤣

Block out your time to attend the 2026 Illinois CRR Conference at the Illinois Fire Service Institute! This year we will expand the conference to two days. The conference will kick off on Sept 8 with registration at noon to 1pm. Presentations will be from 1pm until 5pm and followed by a reception hosted by IFSI. This will be a great opportunity to network with presenters and other attendees and explore our State Fire Academy! Registration will be open again from 7am to 8am on Sept 9 followed by a full day of presentations. There will be a continental breakfast and lunch provided on Sept 9. Lastly, on Sept 10 Stephen Hrustich from Vision 20/20 will be hosting the Illinois CRR Strategic Planning Session to help guide our efforts going forward. This will be open to everyone and having participation from departments across the state will ensure the best results. Exciting times for Illinois CRR!
