In 1974 Orlis Glen Wheeler opened The Record Exchange, a record store that became a hangout, cultural touchstone, recording studio, and meeting place for a loose group of Northwest Arkansas record collectors, music fans, and musicians spanning three generations. In 2006 The Record Exchange closed its doors and a Fayetteville institution was no more. After the Record Exchange closed its doors, Orlis continued trading and selling records until his death in 2015.

Tomorrow is Record Store Day. Since we are a used vinyl supplier we only participate as customers. I'll be at Block Street Records at 10 a.m. to get my favorites. Check out the list below to see what you can't live without. I hope our old friend Wade Ogle is getting a lot of sleep for the big day!

Thank you for one of the very best days of my life! I'm was so happy to see all the music lovers who came out for our Grand Opening.
It was nice that we sold records and t-shirts which is only important to me as a means to talk to people who love music. Mission accomplished! I so enjoyed visting with each and every one of you. Come back tomorrow if you can 12 to 5 for the second half of our grand opening 10% off sale. And who knows there might some more free albums. Buy an album or not. Whatever just come and share thoughts about music with your friends. Hope to see you soon. You are truly a joy to me.❤❤❤
