One of my favorite pieces of American history is something a lot of people have never heard of.
Before America was a country, there was an old elm tree in Boston.
It sat along one of the busiest roads into town.
In 1765, a group of regular people gathered under that tree to protest the newly imposed stamp tax they thought was unfair.
the tree became a gathering place for protests, celebrations, speeches, and meetings
Before long, that old elm tree had a new name…
The Liberty Tree.
The tree is still remembered today.
But it was the ordinary people beneath it who changed history.
Blacksmiths.
Carpenters.
Farmers.
Merchants.
Just regular citizens.
People who worked with their hands, kept their word, and wanted to build something better for their kids and grandkids.
Two hundred and fifty years later…
I think that's still what makes America special.
Not the buildings.
Not the politics.
It’s the people.
Parents raising their kids.
Small business owners opening before sunrise.
The first responders. Teachers. Nurses.
The men and women who work with their hands every day.
And the neighbors who still wave when you drive by.
That's the America worth celebrating.
So Happy Independence Day, everyone.
🇺🇸 God bless America.

P.S. We may be a little biased... but it's pretty cool that one of the greatest symbols of American freedom… happened to be a tree. 🌳

Most people don't know why I started JSR Tree Service.
It wasn't because I wanted to own chainsaws or heavy equipment.
It was because I saw too many homeowners getting rushed through jobs that should've been done carefully.
Trees are heavy.
They grow over homes, fences, pools, and power lines.
One wrong cut can turn a simple project into thousands of dollars in damage.
So when we take on a job, we're never trying to see how fast we can get in and out.
We take the time to plan it.
We protect your property.
We clean up like we were never there.
And if I wouldn't do the work at my own house, I won't do it at yours.
That's why I started JSR Tree Service.
Not to be the biggest company in The Woodlands.
Just one that homeowners know they can trust.
If you've been thinking about getting those trees taken care of, we'd be honored to come give you a free estimate.

We hired a local 4th grader to do our marketing to try and keep our prices reasonable and pass the savings on to you 🤣
In all seriousness though, we believe in keeping our overhead low so we can keep our prices fair.
No fancy marketing department. No corporate headquarters. Just a local crew that shows up, does great work, and charges you honestly for it.
If you've got a tree situation and want a straight answer on price, tap below to get a quote.
We'll give you an honest estimate…and we promise not to draw it with crayons.

This is not a side hustle—there’s no hesitation or second guessing. We show up, execute, and get the job done.

I don't share stuff like this very often but I had to this time.
Yesterday we did a job for Petriez in The Woodlands.
She's 99 years old.
Lives by herself.
And she loves her garden.
Her daughter called us to help get some work done in her yard. She lives out of town and wanted to make sure her mom was taken care of.
We showed up, got the job done, and cleaned everything up before we left.
When we were finished Petriez came outside and just stood there looking at her yard for a minute.
Then she smiled and said thank you.
That's it. Just thank you.
I don't know why but that hit different.
This woman has been around for 99 years. She's seen a lot of people come and go. And she took a minute out of her day to come outside and say thank you to a couple of guys with work gloves and a truck.
We do this work because it's satisfying to leave a yard cleaner and safer than we found it.
But every once in a while a job reminds you that it's about a lot more than that.
If you've got tree work that needs to get done in The Woodlands, we'd love to earn your trust.

P.S. Petriez also has the most impressive garden I've ever seen for someone who tends it all by herself. At 99. I went home and felt a little embarrassed about my own backyard.

Hey Woodlands Area!
My name is Juan and I own JSR Tree Service. You've probably seen our trucks around town, but I wanted to take a second and introduce myself — the actual person behind the business.
A few things about me that have nothing to do with trees:
I take care of my mom and my nephew. Family is everything to me. It's honestly why I do what I do every single day.
On weekends you'll probably find me and my nephew out fishing or hitting the mud park. And if the Houston Astros are playing — we're there. He's my little best friend and I love every minute of it.
On Sundays you'll find us at Champions Forest Baptist Church. Faith is a big part of who I am and how I run this business. I treat every customer the way I'd want to be treated. That's not a slogan — it's just how I was raised.
I took over this business to step up for my family and keep things going when we needed it most.
Turns out I love it.
I love the hard work. I love the challenges. I love showing up every day and doing something that actually matters for people.
We're a local family business. Not a franchise. Not a call center in another state. When you call us you get us.
If you've ever needed tree work done or know someone who has — I'd love to earn your trust.

P.S. Here's something most people don't know about me. I actually don't like heights.
I know. I'm in the tree business.
My nephew thinks that's hilarious. Honestly so do I.

Okay, I'll be honest. It really annoys me when you Google "how much does tree removal cost" and every single result either gives you a useless range like "$150 to $5,000" or tries to get you to fill out a form so some random company can call you 47 times.
So here's what it actually costs. From someone who does this every day here in The Woodlands.
Small trees under 30 feet - $250 to $600.
Think small ornamental trees, young maples, stuff that's more of an inconvenience than a real project.
Medium trees 30 to 50 feet - $600 to $1,200.
This is where most residential jobs fall.
Large trees 50 to 80 feet - $1,200 to $3,500.
These jobs take a crew, the right equipment, and sometimes a full day.
Very large or hazardous trees over 80 feet - $3,500 and up.
Now here's why those ranges are so wide.
A few things affect the price that most people don't think about.
How close the tree is to your house, fence, or power lines.
Whether the tree is dead, diseased, or leaning, that makes the job more technical.
Obstacles around the tree like structures, other trees, or tight spaces.
Whether you want the debris hauled away or if you want to keep the logs for firewood.
And access, whether we can actually get our equipment to the tree.
Two trees that look exactly the same from the street can be completely different jobs once we actually get eyes on them.
One more thing worth knowing.
If you've got multiple trees that need work we do offer a multi-tree discount. So if you've been putting off dealing with a few of them it's worth getting them all looked at at the same time.
I hope this actually helps.
If you have a tree you're thinking about and want a straight answer on price, just send us a message.
No pressure. No games. No 47 follow up calls.
And yes we do free estimates.
If that tree is totally fine I'll tell you that too.

Last month we got the chance to demo 3,000 gallon water tank, little out the norm. Definitely an experience to say the least, 100% would do it again.
