Houston Gamblers Youth Baseball

That’s a wrap folks! The Gamblers went to Cooperstown and showed the rest of the country how we play baseball in Texas!

We finished pool play going 6-0 and secured the #1 seed going into bracket play. We lost to a strong Chino Hills team in bracket play to finish 3rd place out of 40 teams.

Here’s a few more stats from the week:
9-1 overall record

95 runs scored
20 home runs
59 stolen bases

21 runs allowed
1.34 team ERA
4 shutouts
2 no-hitters
9 runners caught stealing (out of 17 attempts)!

Most importantly, these young athletes handled themselves with dignity and class. They represented Texas well and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the Gambler era!

And we did it with only 9 special boys! They showed some guts this weekend and for the first time ever, these boys took control of THEIR baseball team.

Congratulations Gamblers, you earned this one!

Gamblers go 4-0 on Sunday to take the championship! And did it the hard way, playing 4 games with only 9 players. Well done boys!
