2026 has become a year of learning. Some new skills, some refreshers, and a lot of reminders about how much there still is to discover.

Wrapping up Day 3 (of 6) of one of the most intensive courses I’ve ever taken: breast and chest massage. Much of the focus is supporting clients before and after surgery, but also understanding and caring for the healthy tissue we often ignore completely!

Today was almost entirely dedicated to scar work. Fascinating, humbling, and a powerful reminder that scars are living tissue with stories to tell. The emotions they carry can be as varied as the people who wear them.

This work matters because people deserve support as they find their new normal—whether after cancer, gender-affirming surgery, lactation changes, reduction, reconstruction, or any number of life-changing experiences. Society often treats breasts and chests as taboo, but they are body tissue, and they deserve informed, knowledgeable, and compassionate care.

Helping people reconnect with, understand, and maybe even learn to love their changing bodies again is powerful work.

I’m exhausted, my brain is full, and I’m also grateful for a little break before diving back into this amazing learning next week. 🥰
