This is the Odyssey of Homer translated by Lawrence of Arabia from Ancient Greek into English. Lawrence was a classicist and archeologist before he became a famous desert fighter in WWI.

The book was designed by Bruce Rogers (the most respected book designer of his generation) and published by Oxford in 1932.

This particular copy was bound in full tree calf by the famous London bindery Rivière.

It comes with the collected letters of Lawrence to Rogers about the planning of this book and their lives in general. Both volumes of letters are signed by Rogers and are quite scarce. Vol 1 is one of 200 printed and Vol 2 is one of 300.
