Texas Elements - Gallery Wrapped

The elements of the Texas Hill Country come to life as the sun begins to glare in the from the left of the viewer. The highlights on the cactus needles and dappled light under the oaks give way to the deep shadows. The Bluebonnets hide and moss rock appears. Mesquite shrubs sway in the wind coming off of the lower landscape in the distance.

Recently sold to a great couple in Spring, TX.

Broken Axle

The remains of a covered wagon that did not finish the trip. The rocks, the ruts, the uneven roads, if they can be called roads, finally took their toll. The family started out proud with great ambition and hope. Wheels repaired along the way; Bearings replaced. And now, the broken axle finally caused the abandoning of this prairie schooner. The dark, moody sky matches the despondency these pioneers must have felt as they scattered their belongings into other's wagons who were kind enough to make room.
