The home now houses multiple families, including six women and their twelve children. The women at Pat's Place come to a safe haven in which they find healing and hope for a new life. They receive counseling and instruction to learn a new trade that can support their families. Women participate in a recovery program that typically lasts two years. Amor Real Ministries was founded in 2016 by Alex and Holly Compton of Cu***ng, Georgia, for the sole purpose of ministry in Peru, where they actually lived as missionaries from 2007 to 2008. The couple has ministered there since 2004 when they took their first mission trip under the leadership of Pat Wautlet. Their ministry will now be responsible for raising $60,000 annually to maintain Pat's Place. Alex and Holly are residents of Cu***ng where they have three children and attend The Vine Community Church on Bethelview Road. This and other churches bring short-term mission teams annually to minister to the families at Pat's Place and to serve in other capacities in and around Lima. "We went to Peru for the first time when we were engaged," says Holly, "so it has always been a part of our relationship." The couple now married more than 11 years is excited about this new adventure. "We believe God had called us to be Champions of this home and of these women and children. At Pat's Place they deserve to know what true love and freedom is all about."
