We use a very effective neutral attention based training system. It has allowed us to succeed where traditional training usually falls apart. In traditional training you will usually have either strictly motivational or compulsion base training. In motivational training your using either a treat or toy as a payment system. The upside to this training is IF your dog likes treats they’re going to be really upbeat and happy during the training. The downside is at some point you are going to run into a distraction that outweighs the reward of the treat. In compulsion training the dog will receive some type of correction when they don’t comply. You’re basically forcing the dog to do what you want, which to some degree compromises the attitude of the dog. And that’s the problem with compulsion training. Most would agree that you don’t want a dog that listens but is afraid of you. That’s where our neutral training comes in. We use a collar (not a shock collar) that simply acts as a neutral attention aid. Our training is safe, free of confrontation, conflict and confusion, and there is no yelling or punishment.
