Dr. Jimmy Edmond is one of the top Geriatric physicians in Florida and is the Chief Medical Director of the Gericare Center in Spring Hill, Florida, just north of Tampa. He is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area including: Bayfront Health Brooksville Hospital, Bayfront Health Spring Hill Hospital, Oak Hill Hospital, and Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point. Dr. Edmond received his m
edical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine/Sinai Hospital of Baltimore in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition, he completed a Clinical & Research Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Johns Hopkins, US News, & World Report #1 Hospital on Honor Roll in 1998. Dr. Edmond excelled while with the Johns Hopkins Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology, and received numerous awards and scholarships. He was selected to participate in the Faculty Development Program and the Business of Medicine Certificate Program (first year of MBA Program). In addition, he was asked to stay on with the Johns Hopkins Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology, but he opted to return to Florida to practice medicine in the Tampa area after serving as a staff instructor physician. Dr. Edmond has been in the practice for more than 20 years. He served for many years on the Board of Directors for the Alzheimer’s Association of Florida (Gulf Coast Chapter) and helped to raise tens of thousands of dollars through creating new memory walks, through Public Service Announcements on Alzheimer’s disease, and by promoting awareness on geriatric issues and conditions. He also served as the Chief of Medicine for Spring Hill Hospital. Dr. Edmond is available for meet & greet at the office and he and/or his staff speaks English, Spanish, French, and Creole.
