Black Hawk Labradors

Sleet hasn’t found his forever people yet, but we know they’re out there! We will be delivering to Denver tomorrow and toward the Oklahoma border next weekend if anyone is on the fence and needs delivery!

We visited the vet with the Brady Bunch yesterday and they all behaved so well and got clean bills of health! This was our first time using our wagon (that I’ve had for over a year 🤦🏼‍♀️) and it will definitely not be our last. It was a real life dog pile, but it made the in and out of the office so much easier! A few more days with these little chunks and they’ll start flying the coop!

We have some exciting and unexpected (even to us) news to share. Our girl Anna has been with us for 2 years (we welcomed her as an adult) and we have not taken note of a single heat. There are typically signs such as their v***a swelling, excessive cleaning of themselves, and the most obvious being visible blood. We have never seen any of that. Yesterday we observed her being very friendly with her fur sister and flagging (moving her tail very sharply to the side). It was something we hadn’t seen before so we became suspicious that she may be in heat. On a whim we took her to our reproductive specialist today and she was at the peak of her fertile window. While we did not plan to have pups until the fall, we decided to give it a shot considering we had to let down many families with our most recent breedings and not having enough chocolate puppies to share. We had just the man for the job and he showed up this evening and did his part! So…now we wait. Wait for the hopeful litter that we’ve been waiting for nearly 2 years. We are hoping for the best and if nothing else feel that this is one step closer to figuring out her perfect timing going forward! If successful we will be welcoming black and chocolate puppies near the end of May! 🙏

Side note…if these two have puppies their tongues are going to be outrageous! 🤣
