🌱 Are you seeing a lot of this in your lawn lately? Is it a w**d taking over my lawn?

🏡 Often mistaken for a w**d, the bluegrass in your lawn begins to produce an abundant amount of seedhead as soil temperatures continue to rise.

🌱 This is a normal occurrence each spring and typically lasts for a few weeks.

🏡 To help keep your lawn looking it's best, increased mowing frequency is recommended.

🌱 Your lawn is directing a lot of its energy towards seedhead production and away from leaf tissue production. If the lawn is allowed to get too long it can stress things out, creating a "stalky" appearance and loss of good color.

❄️ Freeze Damage has been noticed on lawns across our area this week.

🌱 Lawns were greening up nicely with our mild winter then we got hit with sub zero wind chills, snow and 50 mph wind gusts, quickly drying out the leaf tissue of your lawn.

🏡 This has lead to brown and discolored areas in lawns.

What can you do to help your lawn recover?

💦 Provide the lawn with some good moisture of 3 deep waterings each week in the absence of rain.
🌱 Give the lawn a fresh cut to remove freeze damaged grass tips, allowing new growth to make its way through the damaged grass easier.
🏡 Be patient. We are at the mercy of mother nature. It will take a few weeks and ideal growing conditions for your lawn to bounce back.

🌼 Forsythia is blooming! This is mother nature's way of saying it's time to get your pre-emergent down.
