I heard disturbing news today about some open mic and songwriter venues in Texas charging a fee, a “pay to play” type fee. That absolutely ludicrous. I hope you never fall for that, it really tells the heart of a venue who does that to musicians. We value our writers and singers Screaming Goat Yard & Tap , that why they provide a meal and two drink tokens to every performer who plays on Wednesday nights. We’ve seen beautiful things happening, writers are networking and co-writing, which is one of the reasons David Lee David Lee & The Jose Armadillo Road Show host the night. Yeah it’s great to hear the writers songs, and many hope to show up at the Goat to get a gig, but there’s more going on there than most know. Listening is more important than being heard and we thank those who come to be fed. If you haven’t been by in a while, we’d love to see your face. Remember, we’re a community.
