Lisa Daley Poetry

I used to not be able to speak more than 3 sentences at a time, because I couldn't organize my thoughts in my mind. I went for years without the ability to share my heart, so I sat in silence while others spoke around me. Was it painful? Very much so. I had schizophrenia for nearly 40 years, but now I can speak! I can even speak at the mic at Jesus Coffee House! At first the evil spirit of fear had me bound, but I pressed thru by typing out my sermon and reading it. Fear had me convinced that I couldn't speak without a written aid. But I persevered. As I spent time alone with Jesus, He would paint a picture of success within my heart. He even started having me speak out loud short testimonies to Him. For example, He would ask me to tell Him my testimony of how I quit smoking ci******es. My time spent with Jesus coupled with the power of the Holy Spirit, has transformed my life as a public speaker! Jesus saw my pain, Jesus saw my faith in Him in spite of the mental oppression I was in, and Jesus responded to me with His grace. I am a miracle. Jesus is the miracle worker!!!

MONEY
Money is difficult to keep,
And the source of sins so deep.
For money, widows weep,
And pile their bills in a heap.

Money can't buy happiness,
It does not grow on trees.
Give a child a quarter,
And he will ask for two more, please.

It isn't in the gifts money buys,
Or in the drive-thru at Burger King.
