For those of you who are planners, we want to share a quick update.

We are continuing to intentionally slow our pace so we can focus on what matters most—our families and providing truly individualized care for the clients we serve. Thank you for supporting a model of care that prioritizes presence, connection, and quality over quantity.

Some losses live quietly within us—woven into our bodies, our stories, our daily breath.
They shape who we are as parents, as people, even when no one else can see the shape they’ve taken.

We remember the babies who never got to stay,
the pregnancies that ended before the world knew,
the births that came too soon,
and the choices that carried both grief and grace.

As midwives, it is one of our greatest honors to walk beside families through every season of this work—the joy, the uncertainty, the deep grief. To witness the resilience, the tenderness, and the way love continues to take root, even when the dream of what could have been quietly slips away.

You are not alone in remembering.
We carry you with us—the families, the longings, the love that endures beyond a heartbeat.

If you wish, you’re welcome to share your baby’s name, initials, or a 🤍 to honor them in the comments.

With tenderness,
Juniper Midwifery

This is the post I have wrestled with for nearly a year. The one I’ve drafted and deleted more times than I can count.

Since 2017, it has been the absolute honor of my life to serve families in North Idaho through birth work. Every single year has been a gift — full of magic, full of growth, and full of awe at the strength of the families I’ve had the privilege to walk alongside. I have poured my heart into this community, and in return, it has shaped me as a midwife, a woman, and a mother.

Over the years, I’ve witnessed both the beauty and the heartbreak of the birth world. Last fall, I walked through three very difficult situations that brought into sharp focus how systemic change and hospital policy can directly affect the safety and well-being of the families we serve. These moments left me reflecting deeply on my role, my heart, and how I can sustainably continue in this work I love.

Those who know me know that my foundation has always been advocacy and evidence-based, heart-centered care. I hold tightly to tradition, and while my practice is rooted in steadiness and pragmatism, it is also deeply tender.

After much reflection and a season of rest this summer, I have made the decision that beginning Spring 2026, Juniper Midwifery will no longer be accepting new clients in Idaho. Repeat clients will always have a place with us, but once you are done growing your families, I will let my Idaho license go.

This community is rich with wise and wonderful midwives, and I could not be more confident in the hands you will be held by. We will be referring new Idaho potential clients to trusted practices such as , , and , as well as the many other incredible midwives serving this region.

My heart and energy will continue to pour into and into supporting families in Washington State, where Juniper Midwifery will focus exclusively beginning May 2026.

I am deeply grateful — for every birth, every family, every lesson, and for this vibrant midwifery community that will continue to thrive long after this transition.
