After lending a week to reintroduce ourselves to our normal routines (y’all know how that goes, lol!), we’ve been basking in our memories of Year 2 of The Root Experience Festival! 🥰

“A Legacy of Resilience: Cultural Stories on the Journey to Racial Justice & Healing”

FILM & ARTIST HIGHLIGHT — “Facing the Storm: Youth Activism,” directed by Mikayla Gingrey!! 🛶

Mikayla is a director & storyteller. As an avid collaborator, this film took a village. Teamed with Matthew Remle, they laid the ground for a truly inspiring documentary about sovereignty, resilience, and generational efforts. We are so excited to have this film in the festival!

“”Youth Activism”, follows the work of Kayah George, Chayton Remle and the Water Warriors to protect Mother Earth. These youth activists embody the power that young people have to lead the way and change the world for the better. They remind us that there is a place for everyone in the climate justice movement.“
