Shaker Racing Monster Truck Team

One of the most irritating things in monster trucks is relying on someone to do a job and not only have them flake out , but not seem to be bothered at all they left us hanging in the eleventh hour.

The line haul driver that was supposed to bring the trailer to the venue no call / no showed yesterday. I was up until 11:30 last night waiting on him to show. I gave up and set my alarm for 5:00 am so I could drag the trailer to the venue myself this morning. If you commit to something, follow through. If you don’t want to be bothered, just tell me at the beginning so I know I can’t rely on you.

….some people’s kids. I swear.

Well, I wrenched my back bolting the engine and trans in the ride truck. I’m done for the day. I’m gonna go throw up somewhere and cry.

Tomorrow is another day.

The glamorous life of monster trucks.

Yesterday, (Easter Sunday) I woke up and drove 8 hours to the shop in Texas. Then got all the parts I painted on Thursday out of the booth, got the cab in the booth, prepped it for primer, then laid down a double coat of 2K on it.

To celebrate, I had a frozen dinner in the cab of my truck around 9:00 pm, then went to sleep.

The rest of the crew drove 12 hours back from a mud show that they got monsooned on the day before. Today starts the reset for next week and I will continue on with painting the cab and assembling the ride truck chassis that should be back from powdercoat later today.

This is hard, lonely work.
