Here are a couple of new pieces of art. You may know that one of my other interests is aquariums and the art forms that they take on such as aquascapes and paludariums. I had been planning to work on an aquascape (underwater garden that reflects artistically arranged underwater plants, rocks, driftwood and aquatic life). When I returned from Spain in November, I started planning. I completed the 75 gallon aquascape in August and the plants are filling in nicely.

Above my other large aquarium (118 gallons) is a fish scene that I turned into a diptych. It is below also.

Water is a constant theme, including in a travel poster for Spain on our dining room side wall, which features a twilight scene of Villoslada de Cameros and the river Aregua, which I created and is now above two Puerto Rican family items, my paternal grandfather's framed machete used to harvest sugar cane in Kauai, for the precursor to C&H Sugar in Martinez, CA. and a hand painted cane of my paternal grandmother's.

I just need to carve out time to upload art to my website, Etsy and Fine Art America.

If you have an interest in any of the above items, before they are posted to the art sites, please feel free to inquire via email to [email protected].

Enjoy.

Amidst fish and aquariums, I haven't forgotten about art! Adding to the line of aquatic-themed teapots here is "Teapot with Barnacles." It is 16" x 20" and will be available on Fine Art America and my Etsy Shop. I'll give a shout when a variety of new pieces are posted.

This was inspired by a trip to Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico. Each day, we walked the beach, Playa de Oro. There were always surprises that the ocean left for us. On one morning, there was a large log, perhaps part of an old pier, which was covered with pink barnacles. It was awesome, but so huge that there was no way that I could collect even a piece of it as a memory. That image, however, has remained with me, and with the aquatic-themed teapots, it seemed to fit right in. I decided, however, that the barnacles would be sun-bleached white, which fits in with some other white-on-white teapots that you will see. Enjoy!

Marigolds

Introducing "Marigolds," a captivating artwork that captures the essence of vibrant beauty. This stunning composition showcases a cluster of luscious yellow flowers in their full bloom, stealing the spotlight with their vigorous presence. Commanding approximately 72% of the frame, these petals, with their delicate and velvety texture, exude an irresistible charm. Against a neutral white or grey background, the flowers take center stage, casting a spellbinding contrast. Each captivating blossom, seemingly from the same annual species, invites contemplation and hints at their shared cultivation. Immerse yourself in the radiant allure of "Marigolds" and let their splendor uplift your spirits.
