Why my Co-Founder, John Ding, and I decided to build an AI SaaS company this year. When we started working together, we had two other Co-Founders, and we were working on something completely different.

We were trying to build the Uber of Landscaping. This startup was called NueMow—yes, we decided to keep the "new" theme going 😁. However, we ran into scaling issues with NueMow and decided to shut it down at the end of last year.

Our other two founders wanted to focus on other things, leaving John and me with a decision: hang up our startup dreams or keep going.

We chose the latter, but we needed to figure out what to work on next. Both of us had become obsessed with GenAI after the release of ChatGPT, so we thought we could do something with LLM technology. We had also noticed a pain point while running our startup that affected the landscapers on our platform.

The phone becomes tethered to your side at all times when running a business without a team in place to handle calls and texts. This was a real pain for the landscapers, who couldn't always answer while doing a job. The missed call became the enemy because they did not want to lose potential business.

So, we decided to help out the small business owner by building software that could handle and follow up on missed calls. We wanted to make it super simple to use, and GenAI enabled us to build that. It freed them from being tethered to the phone 24/7.

They can now enjoy their weekends and let calls be missed. NewMigo follows up to gather information from the customer and then sends a summary to the business owner. They can then check to determine if the call is important or if it can wait until Monday.

We are still early in the journey for NewMigo, but we hope we can continue to provide value for the small business owners, enabling them to have technology resources that were only possible for big companies a few years ago.
