Sometimes grown-ups correct us — and that's part of how we learn and grow. But there's a big difference between discipline that helps you and treatment that hurts you. In this episode, Little Reggie breaks it down in a way that's calm, clear, and kid-friendly: discipline is meant to teach and keep you safe, while abuse leaves you hurt, scared, or unsafe. Most of the time, when adults set rules or consequences, that's normal and okay. But every kid deserves to feel safe — and if something doesn't feel right, telling a trusted adult is always the brave and right thing to do.
In this video, kids will learn:
What healthy discipline looks like (rules, consequences, teaching — not harm)
The signs that something has gone too far
That feeling unsafe is never your fault
How to identify trusted adults they can talk to
That speaking up is a sign of strength
This episode is part of the Little Reggie Safety Education Series from the Athena Protection Foundation, created with our trauma-informed framing and reviewed for age-appropriateness. Great for families to watch together and for classroom or community use.
