Today we’re featuring our beautiful peafowl—Kevin and Karen! 💙💚

If you’ve visited recently, you may have noticed that Kevin isn’t as colorful as he was a few months ago. That’s because he’s currently molting, meaning he’s shedding his long tail feathers. Don’t worry—they’ll grow back in time for next breeding season!

Meanwhile, Karen has been busy laying more eggs! 🥚

Here are 5 fun facts about peafowl:

🦚 Only the male is called a peacock. Females are peahens, and together they’re known as peafowl.

🦚 A peacock’s spectacular train (often called a tail) is used to attract a mate during breeding season.

🦚 Every year after breeding season, male peacocks naturally shed their beautiful feathers and grow a brand-new set.

🦚 Peafowl can fly! They often fly into trees to roost safely for the night.

🦚 Their loud calls can travel long distances and help them communicate with one another.

We’re already looking forward to watching Kevin’s gorgeous feathers grow back, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on Karen as she continues laying eggs! 🦚💙

Thunder made a new friend today. 🦋🦌

While out exploring his habitat, a beautiful butterfly landed nearby and seemed completely unbothered by Thunder’s curiosity. For a few quiet moments, they shared the same little patch of earth—a gentle reminder that some of nature’s sweetest moments happen when you slow down enough to notice them.

It’s little surprises like this that make life on the farm so special. 💚
