It's incredible that after six years of carefully tending the soil and keeping it planted with veggies and flowers, this is how it looks after just one spring of not planting.

Nature abhors a vacuum and if you don't cover the soil, it will! Weeds aren't all bad, they are better to have on the soil than leaving it bare and letting erosion carry away the topsoil. The important thing is to mow down the weeds before they go to seed and create a new generation. The opposite of what we did here :)

“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Love in action. Generously offering your time to move someone else’s farm in record temperatures and humidity. And doing it with smiles and laughter. There are gifts in difficult seasons of life and one of the greatest is the hands that reach down to lift you up. We are humbled and blessed beyond measure for the many hands that are lifting us up right now - figuratively and literally. Thankful, grateful, blessed.
