Brushing up on your emotional vocabulary might be one of the simplest ways to improve emotional regulation.
Sometimes the most powerful question isn’t “What’s wrong with me?”
It’s “What am I feeling?”
When we can name what we’re feeling, we create space for understanding, self-compassion, and healthier responses.
The goal isn’t to fix the feeling—it’s to understand it.

Save these for the conversations where your reality keeps getting questioned
Your experience matters
Your boundaries matter
You don’t have to argue someone into understanding you

The Dual Process Model of Grief, developed by Stroebe & Schut, reminds us that grief is not linear.
Or even cleaner for the caption:
The Dual Process Model of Grief
developed by Stroebe & Schut
reminds us that grief is not linear
It does not move through neat stages
And there is no finish line
Grief often moves back and forth between two states:
Loss-oriented coping
Turning toward the grief, the missing, the crying, the longing, the remembering
Restoration-oriented coping
Turning toward life, daily tasks, work, laughter, planning, and moments of normalcy
This back-and-forth is not denial
It is regulation
Feeling okay does not mean you are grieving wrong
Feeling crushed again does not mean you are regressing
The movement between both is grief adapting
There is no finish line
There is adaptation
