We fired up our Mochi machine tonight the first time since we moved back to SF in March! Us no longer running the business doesn't give any excuses for not making Mochi for the New Year 😉 We wish we could share these Mochi with you all 😢

Have a joyful New Year!

Japan Festival in Boston | ボストン春祭り 03/30/2014

This year the Japan Festival will be held in conjunction with the Cambridge Arts River Festival.

Please note that after much consideration Mochi Kitchen has decided NOT to participate in the festival this year.

For the last two Japan Festivals, we started mochi making around 9PM the night before the festival, stayed up all night making mochi treats, and brought only what we could possibly make in those hours. Our goods were sold out in less than 3 hours at both times. For the rest of the day, we greeted and apologized to so many disappointed customers who came to our booth only to find empty tables.

In order for us to meet substantial quantities of mochi to last from 12 NOON to 6PM, we would have to start making most of our mochi one day in advance, and that would result in many customers ending up with a day old or more products. It is against our mission of serving freshly made mochi treats. Going forwards, we will continue participating in smaller events such as farmer's market or local smaller scale fairs.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause, but sincerely appreciate your support and understanding.
