All Around Dogs
We are happy to finally share video 1 of this year's Halloween headband photos. It is grouped by dog family first, with additional dogs alphabetically.
Participation is appreciated, but always optional. We would like to thank all clients, 2 legged and 4 legged who participated.
We hope all client dogs enjoyed their stinky tripe chew Halloween treat!!
Video 2 will be available shortly.
Meet Margot: Last summer Margot came to us for swimming lessons. She had limited water experience, and we needed to help build her water confidence.
Margot was nervous at first but was a very quick study. Initially, Margot swam with a life vest and after some laps was willing to retrieve a disc toy. Since she was doing so well, we replaced the vest with a float collar. Again, after a few laps she continued to retrieve the toy. Then we progressed to her swimming on her own with no floatation. She did well and continued to retrieve. Her first lesson was a great success!
Margot has had a couple more lessons and continues to visit for tune ups. She is now happy and confident when she arrives for her swims.
When not enjoying her swimming sessions, lake swims and paddle boarding, Margot participates in NASDA, Barn Hunt, Rally and Agility.
Many thanks to Madi (Margot’s mom), for trusting me to teach sweet Margot to swim, and for her continued support of my swimming services business.
Meet Eddie & Goose: Eddie is a performance dog who came to us for swim lessons and swim therapy for tune ups and prevention. Eddie had limited, to no, water experience. Initially, he swam with a life vest and was pretty nervous. Like others, after a few sessions, he decided he enjoyed the massage portion of his sessions enough to tolerate swimming. As his skills improved, and he built more confidence, it increased his desire to retrieve toys and play in the pool.
Goose joined the family last year and initially tagged along to Eddie’s sessions. He also had limited water experience and needed his own swimming lessons and exercise swims. Since he is also a performance dog, unfortunately he experienced a tendon injury. In addition to getting formal rehab, he receives swim therapy. He is doing well and is back at training and competing. He is still a little nervous in the pool, and we are working on his confidence.
When not enjoying their swim therapy sessions, and playing in the river, Eddie and Goose participate in NASDA and UKC Scent work and agility trials.
Many thanks to Tori, (Eddie and Goose’s mom), for including me as part of Goose’s recovery team, as well as Eddie and Goose for their continued support of my swim therapy services.
