🌪️ One Year Ago, Everything Changed 💔 💦 One Year Later, An Act of Kindness Brought Us to Tears 💛 On the night of August 18, 2024, disaster struck. A massive storm tore through our kennel—shattering windows, buckling doors, flooding the building. The fire department ordered us to evacuate immediately. Every dog was safe 💙, but everything else was not. The damage was crushing. Newly epoxied floors—destroyed. The roof ripped apart. Each time we fixed one thing, the next rainfall ruined it again. Supplies, cages, medicine, electronics, appliances—gone. Walls and flooring—ruined. 💔 Insurance called it an “act of God.” Promised FEMA grants vanished. Repairs topped $100,000. For months it felt like every paw forward was washed away. Each new leak was another heartbreak. But then something incredible happened. 💛 The love, support, and fundraisers from this community poured in. Volunteers showed up when we thought we couldn’t go on. You reminded us that even in the darkest times, hope still shines. And now, one year later, a miracle pulled into our driveway. 🚚✨ On August 28, 2025, AMC Roofing arrived with trucks full of supplies and an entire crew. They didn’t just patch holes—they replaced our roof. They even re-roofed our damaged storage sheds. Thank you Joe and Paul from AMC Roofing for this unbelievable kindness and generosity. You made sure these rescue pups remain as safe as possible. This was more than shingles and nails. It was safety. It was stability. It was HOPE. For the first time in a year, we can move forward without fear of the next storm undoing everything.
