I grew up with a fixed mindset and perfectionism, so I really unraveled when I was working on something challenging that made me feel like a failure. Our kids go through this. All of them. And the ability to develop a growth mindset and excitement for learning and improving is so important. My children may be a little young to truly grasp this concept now, but I want to sprinkle it into our discussions around their frustration. I'll also keep this exact phrasing in my back pocket to be used in the future. Helping our kids to deal with frustration effectively is essential. And I really like this framing and approach.
