Hello, internet! It’s been over a year since my last post. I get a lot of questions “hey do you still do woodworking?” Yes! I just don’t post very often. Here’s proof the M201 shop is still in full swing! The most recent commission out of the shop: a 3x3 black walnut table. What a beauty!

The most recent commission out of the shop: two custom stair gates! Seamlessly blending into the existing railings, they look like they have always been a part of the house. Clients often praise these gates for offering better functionality and drastically improved aesthetics than traditional gates sold in stores. These are a popular choice for parents with young kids! Thanks for the opportunity to add a custom piece to your home!

Sometimes the shop is best for making silly trophies for game days! Made from scraps of oak and wenge hardwood, this resembles the unconventional Nintendo 64 controller from the 90s.

Congrats to for his first place finish after 12 games! Noteworthy performances from and as well. And congrats to us all for making it as far into the night as we did… The clock in Elijah’s victory photo is AM! 🥱🎮🏆

Another piece finished and delivered to its new home today! This corner desk is 7’ x 5’ long, 2’ wide, and 30” tall. Finished in a whitewash stain with white legs and drawers.

Using a whitewash stain was new to me and it required more attention than traditional wood-tone stains. But trying new things is the best way to grow your skill set and often yield the best results! Thanks, !

Typically I take January “off” from the shop to get some other things done around the house. But Mother Nature’s frigid Midwest winter forced that break to extend into March after causing a decent amount of unexpected water damage to our house. 😬 Not ideal! But January’s house project of a DIY bathroom reno was eventually finished and turned out wonderfully. And even better news: I’ve got time to be back in the shop! Send me a message if you’d like to commission a piece or check out Mark201.com for a selection of smaller pieces available now. Time to create!
