We've been long-time supporters of Children's Home Society of South Dakota and began donating our time, talents, and treasure to the organization long before SamCreative existed. 25+ years of volunteering, much of it photography for their events, ground-breakings, ribbon cuttings, etc.

We were proud to capture the photos at this year's "Evening for the Kids" fundraising event, as we have many years before. There was an unexpected difference this year...having a front-row view, camera in hand, to witness the pure look of disbelief and joy on the faces of Mike and Sarah when they announced that the same person had won both cars donated by Schulte Subaru! An amazing gift to CHS from them, with a memorable outcome!!

One of the best things about architectural photography is being invited into beautiful homes by people we wouldn't likely meet any other way. In this case, the homeowner had a noticeable flare for décor and could easily trade her nursing gig for one staging or decorating homes. It was such a treat to photograph and appreciate this amazing space!

Just over a year ago, a derecho (see extreme weather with intense, damaging wind) did a number on the home they lived in on their Eastern South Dakota family farm. This unfortunate experience created the need to rebuild; so, making the best of a bad situation they built-back better than ever, ensuring their family farm will continue deep into the future!

With the homeowner's flare for home décor, it was no surprise they chose to load their new home with beautiful Showplace Cabinetry!
